Baked Chicken Favorite Comfort Food

If you had to say what your favorite comfort food was, what would it be? For me, it is oven baked chicken legs with mashed potatoes. The chicken legs take about 50-55 minutes to bake. So, the perfect accompaniment is mashed potatoes, which you can whip up in about the same timeframe! I have to add that Vegetable Soup with Butternut Squash comes in a close second in the comfort food category, but I digress!

Here’s a photo of my favorite comfort food, served just this past weekend to my happy family. What is your favorite?

Can’t forget the mashed potatoes…. :)

OK, I’m all ears, waiting to hear you tell me about your favorite comfort food!

    That does sound good… What’s a quick and easy veggie to serve with this?

    @Rob,
    Good question! I like to serve fresh zucchini and squash with this meal (easily sliced and microwaved with a little salt and pepper).

    I love this chocolate chip pumpkin bread that my grandma made when I was a kid. Now I have the recipe and make it sometimes but it brings up the memories of sitting around the fireplace on cold snowy days!! @Ashley,
    Oh wow! Chocolate chip pumpkin bread sounds delicious! Comfort food is just wonderful during the cold winter months! And I love the thought of eating around the fireplace!

    I can’t really decide.

    It certainly is not chili. Perhaps it is spicy fried chicken or oven baked hotwings. I don’t know what it is about eating them, but the feeling I get that all is right with the world is absolutely wonderful.

    @David,
    Yum! I love spicy fried chicken and oven baked hotwings, too! Have you tried Asian style broiled chicken thighs? OMG, they are so good! I’ll post the recipe for that soon. TGIF!
